FOR   AUTHORS

The Georgian Committee of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM) has established the reviewed and reported International Scientific Journal “PROBLEMS OF APPLIED MECHANICS” on June 23, 2000.

BY decision of the Executive Council of IFToMM (Italy, July 6-7, 2001) the journal “Problems of  applied Mechanics” is established  as  an official international journal of IFToMM.

Accordingly, by decision of the Executive council of IFToMM (August 30-31, 2003, Chicago) it was affirmed new name of the journal “Problems of Mechanics”.

The journal is periodical and published four times a year; manuscripts are being submitted in English.

The manuscripts submitted for publication must satisfy the following requirements:

1. The maximum size of the paper is determined by 6-25 typed pages on A4 page format with line drawings, graphics, tables and references (not more than 25). References should be drowned strictly by ISO standard (See appendix 1).

2. While preparing the paper on the computer the following requirements must be satisfied:

a) The paper must be prepared in Microsoft Word - using the redactor for the tables and formulae;

b) Margins: top - 35 mm, bottom - 25 mm, left - 25 mm, right - 20 mm;

c) The line drawings in TIF or PCX format;

d) Papers are being printed in Times New Roman. ttf;

e) Font size: 14 - for the title; 13 - for the name and surname of the author; 13 - for the positional place of work and organization where the work had been carried out – in brackets; 12 - for the abstracts in italics; 12 - for the keywords; 12 - for the text with 1,5 interval; 12 - after references should have the abstract in Russian; the abstract should have the title of the paper, author’(s) (authors’) name and surname;

3. The paper must be submitted on floppy disk and one copy printed on format A4;

4. In addition, the paper should have English and Russian summaries on separate page;

5. The summary should not exceed 15-20 lines. The summary should have the title of the paper, author’s (authors’) name and surname;

6. Works must be represented according  to the following courses of the Journal  (See appendix 2) and the scientific course should be indicated in the paper;

7. The paper should be accompanied with the information about the author(s): scientific degree and rank, occupation, address, (home, office, institute), telephone, fax, e-mail.

8. The manuscripts must be prepared grammatically, without stylistic and technical mistakes, besides, the pictures and the photographs should be of high quality;

9. The author(s) are wholly responsible for the contents and the quality of the work;

10. The paper, submitted for publication is being given to a famous scientist-specialist of the corresponding field of science for a review, and only on the occasion of the positive review it will be accepted for publication in the journal;

11. The Journal is financially self-supported; web-page: http://www.iftomm.org (and select publications); or http://www.pam.edu.ge

12. Each author gets one journal for one scientific paper;

13. Aforementioned requirements are necessary for the scientific work to be accepted.
